(April 8, 2015 Tokyo) Today Japan’s Central Social Insurance Medical Council (Chuikyo) announced its pricing and reimbursement decision for medical devices named Trabecular Metal Augments and Monoblocks, manufactured by Zimmer Inc., Japan. Same price was determined for following devices: Tibial and Femoral Cone Augments, Tibial and Femoral Monoblocks.
Decision classification: C1 (new feature)
Primary use: to reinforce bones suffering from defects or degeneration of bone tissue through knee joint reconstruction surgery in cases of severe bone degeneration, trauma, bone abnormality, or the like.
Insurance reimbursement price (decided by Chuikyo): 216,000 JPY
Price calculation method: cost-based price setting
